After a two hour journey from Valencia, crossing beautiful landscapes of the Levantine coast, We will glimpse the silhouette of a city that rules majestically, evoking medieval times. This is the beginning of our visit to Morella, an imposing walled town, whose vertical construction will surprise you from the very first moment.
A accredited local guide It will take us through the narrow, steep cobbled streets that are so characteristic of the city. The FIRST STOP will be in the famous castle that dominates the village, a 12th century Islamic fortress which has witnessed numerous battles and historical events. Here, you can learn about the significant influence of Morella in the time of the Crown of Aragon. and how it was a vital strategic point during the Reconquista.
The castle not only offers a journey through history, but also views of the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area, ideal for photography lovers. Among its former guests is none other than the legendary Cid Campeador.
We will continue our guided tour in Morella with the Convent of San Francesc, where you can admire its impressive gothic architecture. This former Franciscan monastery is remarkable not only for its beauty, but also for its historical and religious significance in the region. In addition, we will visit the Church of Santa Maria la Major, considered the most beautiful gothic church of the Valencian Community, with its imposing façade and rich interiors that bear witness to Morella's glorious past.

Excursion to Peñíscola, the city in the sea
After a tasty lunch in Morella, we will head east to discover Peñíscola, a city that perfectly combines history with the charm of the Mediterranean. This coastal town is famous not only for its natural beauty but also for its rich history, dating back to ancient times. Film buffs and movie buffs will recognise some of the streets and corners of the town, as it has been chosen as a filming location for several films and series such as Game of Thrones.
On our visit to Peñíscola, the first thing that will catch our attention is the imposing castle, located at the top of a rocky crag that juts out into the blue sea. It was built by the Templars and later became the Pope Luna's residence, one of the most enigmatic and controversial popes in history, who used it as his palace and personal library. This is why Peñíscola is known as the Pope Luna's city.
We will continue our guided tour of the OLD TOWN, where traces of the past are evident at every turn. Here, the architecture reveals layers of history, with Muslim, Roman and Templar influences that are interwoven into the structures of the city.
Afterwards, we will visit emblematic sites outside, such as the House of Shells, famous for its façade decorated with shells from the sea, and the Bufador Bufador Bufador, The sea is a natural phenomenon where the sea bursts through a cave, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
Our walk will also take us along the ancient wall The contrast between the intense colour of the sea and the blue and white tones of the picturesque houses in the old town, creating a landscape that looks like something out of a postcard.
After a full day exploring the wonders of Morella and Peñíscola, We will return to Valencia in the afternoon.
