Premium Grape Harvest Experience in Requena with Wine Tasting and Brunch

The grape harvest is one of those times of year that completely transforms the landscape of Requena. For a few weeks, the vineyards come to life and one of the most important events in the wine calendar begins.

And this time, you’re not just going to watch.

We’ll be travelling from Valencia to NOVOS Wineries, where we’ll venture into the vineyards to see first-hand how it all begins. You’ll learn to recognise when a grape is at its peak, select the best bunches and you will harvest by hand, as has traditionally been the case.

And, of course, you’ll be able to do one of the simplest and most enjoyable things of the day: to taste the grapes straight from the vine.

From the vineyard to the winery

After harvesting the grapes, we’ll follow their journey to the winery.

There, you’ll learn about the early stages of the winemaking process and take part in selecting the bunches of grapes, before discovering how their transformation into wine begins, starting from the destemming through to maceration.

Throughout the tour, the NOVOS team will explain how the work in the vineyard and the decisions made during the winemaking process ultimately shape the aromas, flavours and character of each wine.

And between one activity and the next, it’s time to do what was traditionally done after a morning’s grape harvest: stop off, share a bite to eat and drink some good wine straight from the porrón.

There’ll be traditional snacks, wine, water and soft drinks to help you recharge your batteries and enjoy the atmosphere.

A tasting to discover how wine ages

Having learnt about wine from its origins, it is now time to discover how it changes over time.

You will take part in a guided tasting of different vintages of NOVOS, comparing wines from different vintages and discovering how their aromas and flavours evolve after ageing in the cellar.

A different way of understanding the entire journey behind every bottle: from the grapes you’ve just harvested to a wine steeped in years of history.

And to round things off: a grape harvest brunch

Because after a morning spent harvesting grapes, it’s time to sit down at the table.

We’ll round off the experience with a traditional grape harvest brunch, served in the tasting room and accompanied by NOVOS wines.

You’ll enjoy:

• Salad of organic tomatoes from the vegetable patch with bonito.
• A selection of traditional sausages from Requena, grilled.
